The "Fun" product is a new addition to Lush's variety of products which I wanted to try because it seemed really interesting and cool, and was also a 4-in-1 product which is always awesome! Read my review on this shampoo/toy/body wash/bubble bath!
So when I walked into the Lush store the day I bought this I was immediately captivated by it because it looked like there was just a pile of play doh in the store alone with a rolling pin next to the pile. Being the adult that I am I was drawn to the item and realized that it did in fact feel exactly like play doh. You can mix the many different colours and shape them into whatever you want. Once I picked up the packaging I realized that the product was actually a 4-in-1 bath product, which works as a soap and body wash, which are basically the same thing, a shampoo, and a bubble bath.
I've always been interested in Lush's shampoo bars, but this product was so cool that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play around with it. After all it felt like play doh, and growing up I was a huge fan of play doh! I couldn't resist. I decided to go for the red one, which had the most pleasant smell next to the green one. You also have the option of buying many of the colours and smashing them together as they did in the store display, but it would probably end up smelling really weird.
This vegan product is also great because 2.5% of it's sales are contributed to Lush supporting charities in Fukushima, Japan in order to create a safe environment for children to play.
In this review i'll be talking about it mainly as a soap, toy, and a shampoo, because i'm not a fan of bubble baths.
Shampoo
So the main reason I wanted to try this product was because of the fact that it is a shampoo, and normally I am reluctant to buy combination products, but this one was just too fun. (haha) I have short, thick hair and whenever I use this product I typically use a pea sized amount or a little bit more than that, and that is usually enough to clean my hair. I try lathering it between my hands after i've played with it as a play doh, but I end up just rubbing it into my hair even if it hasn't completely dissolved.
The product actually cleans hair extremely well, because once I rinsed it off there was absolutely no grip in my hair so it's definitely great at cleaning. To manage the oils that have been striped from my hair I like to use this product with OGX Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner, because it really helps my hair feel softer, and smells great with this product.
Word of caution though the product does have a sulfate ingredient, which I normally tend to stay away from including parabens and dyes. I haven't found any problems with this product but if you don't like to use products that include these ingredients then this is something to keep in mind when considering making the purchase.
Soap
The product as a soap is completely different from it as a shampoo. I prefer it as a shampoo way more than I like it as a soap. You would have to use a large amount of this product in order to fully soap your entire body, but other than that it is a pleasant smelling product, and it does clean well, but I don't like the idea of having to use such a large amount, and subbing it all over my body while trying to keep it from slipping out of my hands. I've tried to use a wash cloth along with it, but i'm not even sure if i'm cleaning myself with it, because it barely lathers within the wash cloth. I'd say this could work as hand soap, but I wouldn't use it as a body wash.
Toy
As a toy this thing is freaking awesome! The toy is very malleable when it's wet, and works as actual play doh. It reminds me of when I used to play with play doh except it smells even better than it did before! As i've said the red one smells the best along with the green, but maybe you'll enjoy the three other colours that are offered (pink, yellow, and blue.) This product is great for adults, and kids, and would be an amazing travel product, since you don't have to bring soap, and shampoo along with you. If you do bring this product when you travel i'd suggest maybe placing it in a container so that it doesn't squeeze out of it's packaging and make a mess.
