PinkPrint Tour + Outfit + Feeling Myself Live Performance

Hey everyone! So this post is completely different from what I normally do, but concerts happens so rarely for me that I really wanted to write my experience on the PinkPrint Tour by Nicki Minaj! I was lucky enough to have seen her on a beautiful summer day in Toronto. Check it out!

Outfit:

I kept what I wore pretty simple, and minimal. It was a very hot day so I didn't really want to have a lot of things on me. I wore a simple white wide neck t-shirt from Topman which I bought for about $10 dollars, which is a pretty good price for that store, and off-white American Eagle shorts in the prep style, which are currently only $20 so be sure to pick those up if you need shorts, because they're my favourite, and I highly recommend them. I also wore a plain black hat from Michael's for $5, and classic matte black Ray-Bans. For shoes I went with a pop of colour wearing my light green vans.

PinkPrint Tour:

The day of the tour was one of the hottest days in Toronto's summer. The venue was outside at the Molsen Amphitheatre, and I have never been to an outdoor concert so that was very exciting. I got to the venue at 7:10 PM and was frisked by security upon arrival. Afterwards I made my way to my seat, which was pretty good. I sat in section 200 out of 400 sections plus a lawn area, so I was fairly close to where I didn't need to rely on the concert screen to watch her. Tinashe was already performing by the time I got to my seat, but I didn't really see her because I needed to use the washroom, and I got myself a beer. It was more than 30 degrees celsius, so I definitely needed something to drink. Quick tip: Remember to bring cash to concerts. A lot of the lines are cash only so it's pretty hard to have a debit or credit card around.

Once I got back to my seat Tinashe was performing 2 On, which is basically my summer song last year so I was so excited. She was so incredibly cute, and an amazing dancer. Once she left a few minutes passed by before Rae Sremmurd came on, and got the whole crowd hyped up. The performed a much longer set than I had anticipated. I only knew one song unfortunately, but I do have the album so I should've listened to some before the concert. Once they finished DJ Boof began performing and continued to hype up the entire crowd, even causing us to put up our cellphones and their flashes which was really cool when you looked around at the entire crowd. Finally after 3 hours Nicki was about to come out! In grade 9 I was beyond obsessed with her, and even to this day I'll randomly start "rapping" some of her lyrics. (I put rapping in quotations, because I'm not sure if that's what I am actually doing haha!)

She began her concert with All Things Go in a beautiful black gown, and showed off her huge engagement ring! She looked stunning as the whole entire crowd was now screaming for her. I'll just note here than constantly mention it throughout the post, but she usually only say her verses in the songs. The Crying Game began, which was sweet and beautiful, and began to pick up things in the concert transitioning from a more slow and sultry song to more upbeat songs. Feeling Myself began right after, which the whole crowd began singing along to. It was also the only song which I filmed, because it is one of my favourite songs ever. She transitioned to Only and the backdrop of the concert during the song Only was gorgeous reminiscent of a very old buildings or churches. She changed into a gorgeous gold outfit, which shined with every step she took once she walked out again. The concert was now in full effect, and everyone was standing, and dancing around everywhere!

One of my favourite parts of the concerts was near the end when she performed a somewhat medley of her verses. It was very old school Nicki in that moment, and the backdrop was another one of my favourites with just simple brick, and the PinkPrint Tour written in, of course, pink. She performed songs such as her Monster verse. She eventually performed with Meek Mill, who in all honesty, was exactly welcomed by some of the audience, based on his comments about the Toronto native, Drake. He was practically booed when he performed during the middle of the concert. However, I missed this since I left to go get a drink. She was wearing a beautiful gown that was silver/grey, and they were very cute together sharing a kiss.

She ended the show with Starships, and finally wished Toronto a good night as she bowed down, and left the stage. All in all she was amazing, and very sweet as she continually acknowledged the importance of becoming independent, along with the importance of education. Her interaction with the fans who came up to perform the song Whip It was cute. I would give the concert a rating of 9/10. I wished the opening acts weren't as long as they were, and there were some songs I wish she had performed the entire verse for. I know it was for the sake of time, but songs such as her Monster verse, and Want Some More weren't performed in their entirety which made me a little sad, but regardless she was just an amazing performer.
Be sure to pick up a copy of the Pinkprint or buy it on iTunes!
