ST. THOMAS, USVI |
Spring break is slowly approaching, and so is summer. I want to throw it back to summer 2014, and describe my Carnival Cruise Experience! The experience was incredible, and something that I plan on going on again. The different cultures, people, and views that are present when you visit the various destinations will leave you speechless at the end of your trip.
Day 3: DAY AT SEA
There are an endless amount of activities that you can do on the ship. You could swim, play bingo, watch a performance, eat, go the spa, shop, eat, but if you're a reader like I am, then you take the opportunity to read a book in front of an amazing view. I read "Insurgent," the second part of the Divergent series, during my trip. My favourite spot to read was the back of the ship or the "stern," because it was beautiful to just look up occasionally, and look at the ocean. If you're like me you'll then eat, and eat, and eat. But I took the opportunity to do something I don't normally do, gamble at the casino.
You're legally allowed to gamble at the casino if you're 19, if you're not then don't even think about stepping foot on the carpeted area of the casino. I was asked for my room card, which acts as a debit/credit/ID card, multiple times to the point where I just wanted to leave and read my book again! I also took an opportunity to look at the stores available on the ship. Most items were jewellery, and fragrances - both of which I don't normally buy, but window shopping is always fun.
This was also formal night... my least favourite night. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I had no idea there would be formal nights on the cruise! Silly me! Luckily, I had a few pieces that I could make work, but I regret not bringing a suit and going all out like the other people on the ship. So word of advice bring two dressy outfits!
Day 4: ST. THOMAS, USVI
St. Thomas was a very complicated day for me. The day started off rainy, and once the rain went away is became unbearably hot. I didn't want to complain, since this wasn't a place that I could go to often, obviously, but it was just so hot and humid! We went up this lift that took us to the top of a mountain, and we witnessed a beautiful view that I was obsessed with. Once we were down on the ground again we decided to visit the tourist area that consisted of shopping. I was given an early birthday present when I was gifted a GoPro from my family. I was so excited since it meant that I could take more videos, and I could use it underwater.
It was an amazing experience, and everything was so interesting, since it was all new to me. The people were extremely eager to help, and the shopping was really awesome with very discounted prices!
If you're interested in the cruise I went on visit the Carnival website here!
