Top 10 Beyoncé Songs

Beyoncé a.k.a my Virgo Queen is literally an amazing entertainer, and one of the most beautiful voices that has blessed my ears. I am a huge fan, and I really wanted to see if I could narrow down a list of what I think are my top 10 favourite Beyoncé song's of all-time, especially in-time for her 34th birthday! This was so hard to do because I tried not to focus on songs that are just singles, but here you have it - my personal top 10 Beyoncé songs!

10. Me, Myself and I

To start off the countdown (no pun intended haha!) is Me, Myself and I. This song was the third single off of her very first album "Dangerously In Love" and it is one of my all time favourite's because it cheers me up whenever I feel like a little sad. It definitely gives me an independent push that reminds me that I'm capable of doing things without relying on anyone else. The song is very slow, and mellow - perfect for some late night reflection.

Album: Dangerously in Love

9. Irreplaceable

Irreplaceable definitely had to make this list, because I think it's one of Beyoncé's most iconic songs. I remember jamming out to this song, and video when I was younger whenever it played on Much Music, without fully understanding what it actually meant! This song is definitely more upbeat than Me, Myself, and I, but it still carries nearly the same meaning. Throughout the song she tells her soon to be ex boyfriend that he's definitely not irreplaceable, and that she's hot enough to find another man real quick. It's the perfect breakup song to jam out to, and just throw middle fingers at your ex!

Album: B'Day

8. Freakum Dress

I'm starting to think that maybe i've developed a pattern in loving all Beyoncé songs that preach about independence, but they're just so good that I can't resist! Freakum Dress is one of my favourite songs to listen to whenever i'm getting ready to go out on a Friday night. I always feel the need to start jumping around, and jamming while I try to find something to wear. This is the perfect upbeat song that everyone needs in their playlists/iPod/iPhone/iPad whenever they're getting ready for a night out, especially if you're trying to look your best (and are secretly hoping that you'll run into your ex.)

Album: B'Day

7. Single Ladies

Single Ladies is that Beyoncé songs that everyone jams to whether you want to or not. You'll definitely start awkwardly bumping your head to the beat or swaying your hips to the rhythm whether you even realize it or not! I. Love. This. Song. So. Much. It just makes me feel like I don't even need anyone else in my life other than my family and friends, and start dancing the choreography to that iconic black and white video! This was my favourite single off of I Am... Sasha Fierce, and I know it's one of the most memorable Beyoncé songs of all time (pun totally intended!)

Album: I Am... Sasha Fierce

6. Love On Top

Love On Top is a time machine that takes you back in time to the Jackson 5 era. The video itself is very reminiscent of Michael Jackson, and it's an incredible tune for every situation in life! Cooking, cleaning, working out, walking, reading, anything! I love this song so much, and always feel compelled to bop my head along to the song regardless of where I am. I just get so into the song that I forget everything that's happening around me, and who I'm with as Beyoncé's voice carries me into another world!

5. Crazy in Love / Crazy in Love (Remix)

Crazy in Love is the song that I personally believe made Beyoncé who she is when she  was first starting out. This was her first solo single that came out, which featured her now husband, Jay-Z, and it is just one of the most iconic songs in her career. The song was incredible, but then became even more incredible when the 50 Shades of Grey Remix was released. Both versions are so good that I honestly couldn't pick which one I liked more, because the only thing they share that is the same are lyrics. The standard version of Crazy in Love is so upbeat, that you could just get hyped up listening to it, while the remix is more slow, and sensual version of the song that is so haunting, and addicting. The song literally goes from day to night with the standard version to the remix. Beyoncé definitely did not disappoint with these amazing versions of the same song.

4. ***Flawless (feat. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie) / Flawless Remix (feat. Nicki Minaj)

Okay, now this song I might just get a little too excited writing about because it is literally one of my favourite songs of all time. This song is the perfect song to get hyped up to! Whenever I get into one of those moods where I just don't feel great about myself, or i'm feeling a little sad about something all I do is blare this song through some speaker or put in my head phones, and put up the volume to nearly the loudest point, and jam out. Both the standard version, and the remix can make my day feel instantly better. I love both versions, but I do think I lean a little more towards the remix version with Nicki Minaj, because I think Beyoncé and Nicki make an incredible pair. (I'm crossing my fingers for a collaboration album between the two like Watch the Throne.) Feeling Myself from Nicki Minaj's album would've made this list, except the song only features Beyoncé. This song is just amazing, perfect, and makes me feel like a total badass!

3. Drunk in Love

Drunk in Love is the big sister of Crazy in Love, since it features Jay-Z once again in an incredible collaboration between the couple. When the self-titled album was released this was my biggest obsession, and quickly became my most played on iTunes. I would listen to this song AT LEAST once a day, but usually I just had it on repeat. It's one of those songs that I could honestly listen to forever! The singing/rapping thing that she does is just so awesome, and I love her voice at the hook. Every live performance of this song is also incredible as she pretty much just uses a freaking chair to perform it! I love how much more mature this song is compared to Crazy in Love.

2. Rocket

Rocket is honestly one of the highlights for the self-titled album for me. It's a slow and sensual song that basically metaphors sex, but I think her voice is so soothing, and beautiful throughout it, but then uses that  beautiful raspiness towards the end that really makes it stand out, and creates a beautiful blend between her vocal abilities. The song's meaning is so mature as was everything off this album, and I love how she's become comfortable with her sexuality as a mother and a wife. Aside from her amazing voice in this song she looked just as amazing in the accompanying video. This is truly one of the treasures on the self-titled album.

1. Dance For You

And number one on my top 10 favourite Beyoncé songs is Dance For You. This song isn't the most well known or the most iconic, but it is definitely one of my favourites. The song goes through what feels like a story, and describes her love for her partner, and I really just love it. There's actually one part of the song that really stands out for me, and that's when she literally says "This is Beyoncé," but the lyrics in general are really nice, and not too explicit if that's something you worry about, and the choreography in the video is great. I think it's amazing how she takes command during the entire slow and sensual song. This is honestly a song that everyone should like haha!
