Summer Essentials

We are already well into the summer season, but I thought I would list all of my summer essentials anyway. Summer is by far my favourite season ever, because I just really love the heat, and the style of the season. I love trying out fun colours, or odd patterns during the summer, because I feel like it's the best season to do so, but take a look at my staple summer essentials!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is my number one essential for the summer, because it's so important to protect your skin. I feel like I constantly stress it's importance, because I feel like people often overlook it. I love the neutrogena ultra sheer sun screen for my face, but word of caution if you don't apply it properly it can be streaky, and if you don't have pale, white skin then it'll definitely show so make sure to apply it as evenly as you can. If you need to wear moisturizer I would suggest putting your moisturizer after you apply your sunscreen.

Lip Balm

Dry lips are one of my top pet peeves. I just hate the feeling. I think it's so uncomfortable, so that's why this is a summer essential, if not just a overall top essential for everyone season! I really like the vaseline lip balm the most, but I don't like the idea of just dipping my finger into it throughout the day so i'll usually grab for my Burt's Bees.

Lotion

Going along with the theme of skin care, and hydration. You'll obviously want lotion. My favourite one to use during the summer is Malibu Sun by Bath and Body Works, but i'm pretty sure it's discontinued. Luckily they always seem to have a supply of it at the outlet store in my city, so that's where I get to pick it up, but I also like the smell of Vaseline Coco Butter.

Under Eye Roller

An under eye roller to help you keep awake, and reduce your eye bags, while also hydrating them to reduce the puffiness can be great, especially if you were out enjoying the amazing summer night weather the day before. I use the garnier fructis one which definitely helps me.

Dry Shampoo

One of my first ever blogposts was on this little product right here, and it seriously lasts forever. I've used it many times, since I last bought it nearly 6 months ago, and i've barely made a dent. It's definitely a summer essential, because it absorbs the sweat in your hair, and leaves it smelling fresher, so if you're out during the day and want to freshen up then just add a little of this to your hair, and you're good to go. It's also extremely inexpensive for the amount you get from it. I also use it whenever I wear a hat, because I find that it keeps my hat from smelling gross. I highly recommend you check out the product here!

Hat

A hat can really be one of my most used summer essential. Sometimes there are those days where your hair isn't cooperating, or you don't want to do anything to it, or you just want to protect it from the intense heat of the sun. I have very dark hair so sometimes I feel like my hair can by frying from the sun on a hot day so I loving putting on my hat. My favourite hats are the baseball style caps. The black one is one of my favourites it's neutral so it goes with everything, and it was only five dollars at Michael's craft store so check it out.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are one of the reasons why I'm so obsessed with summer. I think they can really put together an outfit nicely, and a few years ago after hating them all my life, I suddenly became so obsessed. My favourite sunglasses are the ones with coloured lenses, and black frames. I also love matte coloured frames. I like experimenting with different shapes, but at the end of the day you can never go wrong with a pair of classic matte black Ray-Ban wayfarers.

Coloured Chino Shorts

Coloured chino's are a fun way to play around with colours during the summer. These are one of my favourite shorts from H&M and it was only about $15 dollars. They're also slightly above knee so it'll keep you cool during hot summer days.

Wide Neck/Oversized White T-Shirt

Wide neck t shirts, or just plain white t shirts are my favourite during the summer, because they tend to keep you cooler during hot, humid days, but you can also never go wrong with a shirt this plain. They don't attract the sun, and they don't tend to cling onto your clothes if you wear them oversized. You can play around with everything else like shoes or accessories whenever you wear a basic white t shirt so I definitely recommend wearing these throughout the summer.

Converse/Vans

I usually grab for converse whenever I go out, but these green vans are perfect for the summer, and they also give a pop of colour if you're wearing all neutrals. Low top converse and vans are my favourite, especially for summer because they're so easy to put on, and don't really require a lot of effort when putting an outfit together.

Travalo

The travalo is one of my favourite products for being so compact, and discreet. Whenever you need a spritz of cologne or perfume it's great to have this little thing, especially if you're out during the day having fun and don't have time to go home and freshen up. Just throw this into your bag or your pocket and you're good to go. I tend to fill my little travalo and it lasts me awhile, but I used to just spray whatever I thought I needed for the day in the bottle in case I ended up losing it somehow. They're very inexpensive as well, and you can get a bigger size that's the same height, but thicker, and doubles the amount it can hold. Check out Travalo's website.

External Battery Charger

This is something that I bring almost every time I head out of the door, because my friends and I always end up needing a charger throughout the day. The one I have is by the brand Fuel+ and can charge two phones at one time. It holds enough battery to charge my entire iPad and Phone at the same time, but if I were to just charge my phone I could charge it about five times before needing to charge the battery itself. I definitely recommend buying a good quality one so you won't have to constantly keep replacing it.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8

You're gonna want something to capture memories with, and the FujiFilm Instax Mini 8 is a great way to capture those memories. I literally love this camera so much. It's so fun, and unexpected, and i'm in love with the fact that it's matte black. It's so fun to play around with this camera, and look back at all of the pictures you've taken!
