Throwback: CARIBBEAN CRUISE EXPERIENCE! (Part 1)

MIAMI, FL
Spring break is slowly approaching, and so is summer. I want to throw it back to summer 2014, and describe my Carnival Cruise Experience! The experience was incredible, and something that I plan on going on again. The different cultures, people, and views that are present when you visit the various destinations will leave you speechless at the end of your trip.

The cruise I had the opportunity of being on was a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. It had been a dream of mine to go visit the Caribbean, especially since I was interested in travelling at such a young age, and was mesmerized by any pictures I saw of the place. I'll be describing each day, and what it was like.

Day 1: MIAMI, FL - Boarding

You never realize how small you are when you're standing in front of a cruise ship that accommodates nearly 3,000 passengers! It was stunning to be in front of vehicle that will act as a home away from home, while having a water slide, a casino, and a shopping centre right outside your door. Not to mention a buffet that offers an excessive amount of different types of food. My personal favourite was the ice-cream, and frozen yogurt! It was just mind boggling how all this could be offered in the middle of the ocean.

Once my family and I boarded we were extremely exhausted. The flight and the wait to board the ship had taken it's toll on us. We basically just ate, slept, wandered, and participated in a mandatory session which describes all the methods used during an emergency.

HALF MOON QUAY, THE BAHAMAS
Day 2: HALF MOON QUAY, THE BAHAMAS

Waking up on a ship is no different than waking up at home, except for the moments when a voice on the overhead awakens you to tell you that you've arrived at the Bahamas... In that case it was much better than waking up at home. You eat breakfast, you go on a smaller boat, and you approach the private island that is Half Moon Quay. The view was incredible. The type you only see on a picture and think to yourself, "that's too good to be true," you list all the reasons why it couldn't be real, such as the water is too blue or the sand is too white, but in reality the water is that blue and the sand perfect. Once you finally set foot on that beautiful white sand and the heat of the sun hit you, you automatically fall in love with everything that the island has to offer.

On this day we took the opportunity to paddle boat in the ocean. I do not recommend this! It was incredibly hard to paddle in the ocean, and in hindsight we should have known better than to attempt it. But, it was beautiful to be in between the ship, and the island. The water was so blue it looked photoshopped, and the sun was so hot I felt the sunscreen on me melting off!

-Part 1/3-

Thanks for reading my first two days on this trip! I've decided to create a little series on this. I'll be posting part 2/3 this Thursday!
