Why You Need An External Hard Drive
I never knew what an external hard drive was till I actually needed one. If you're technologically impaired (like me) you're going to want to know why you probably need one as well!
So i'm not at all exaggerating when I say i'm technologically impaired. I don't know what i'm doing most of the time when it comes to computers, and if I actually accomplish what I wanted to do it's definitely because I googled it till my fingers started cramping! Basically, my computer broke and I nearly lost everything on it.
I have a macbook pro, and I love it, but at this point i've broken it twice for practically the same reason. I'm not exactly a gentle person so I guess i'm a little too rough with my computer and this cord beneath my laptop keeps coming undone, but basically the first time I just brushed it off, but the second time it happened the Apple Store employees were much more serious with me asking if it was okay for me to lose anything on my computer. I said yes, only because I'd rather my computer be fixed than to just keep everything, but obviously if I could have had both I would've wanted it. My friend then told me about external hard drives, and honestly i've known about them, but I didn't know what they could do. They sounded so intimidating and hard to figure out, but they're basically just USBs. They're USBs that have much more space than the average USB. Luckily my computer was fine, and nothing was deleted once they were done fixing it, but I immediately grabbed an external hard drive from the apple store shelf.
The external hard drive I now use is the 1TB Seagate External Hard Drive. It works great for just keeping all of my pictures, and documents on it. You can even backup your computer to it, but I don't really find that necessary for myself. I'd rather just have all my files handy. It's really slim, and resembles the material of the macbook pro. Check it out here!
