Check out my second photo diary from my trip to Cancun, Mexico on 2011/2012. Unfortunately, I don't remember the resort I stayed at, but I remember it having the word Sunset in it.
Mexico was such an amazing, and beautiful place to visit. I'm so lucky and blessed to have been able to visit Cancun at the Sunset Resorts. They treated us so kindly from start to finish, and really made for a memorable trip. Many of the picture I took during the trip were at our resort location, because I thought it was absolutely stunning. The hotel rooms basically felt like apartment villa's, which was unique, because at the time, I had never stayed in a place that wasn't your traditional hotel.
The centre of the resort was a swimming pool, and eating area. The swimming pool also had a bar within it, which I also found unique. The pool was stunningly blue, and reflected the most beautiful images from the surrounding area. Everything about the resort was beyond peaceful, and serene which really made for a relaxing vacation.
The beach was also beautiful as the sand was the whitest sand I had ever seen at the time. It was very dream-like, since the water was also bright blue. It was awesome being able to lay out in the sun, and look around at such an amazing view.
One of the excursions that I was luckily able to participate in was Xplor. This was one of the coolest things i've ever done! Right when I read the pamphlet I knew that it would be awesome, since it included such things as cave exploring, cave swimming, zip lining, and this dune buggy riding course. I was able to do 3/4 things. Cave exploring basically involved sitting on this wood panel, and wearing these paddles on your hand, and rowing your way through the cave. You could choose from either a long course or a shorter course as well for each of the cave activities. I was also able to swim through the caves, which was really special, since it was something that I had never done before. The water in the caves were also bluer than I had anticipated. Zip lining was also a lot of fun, since I had never done it before, and I was able to complete a circuit that also involved waterslides in some parts of it, before finally landing in water.
Visiting Mexico was such an amazing experience, and I highly recommend that you make it one of your travel destinations when considering a vacation!
