Staple pieces are clothing items and accessories that everyone needs in their life. Here are my top 5 staple pieces that make a complete outfit. These are my go to looks, and my favourite. It's basically my uniform.

Contrast Socks:
Contrast socks are one of my staple pieces. They can really make a neutral outfit really pop. I have quite a few different ones - chevron patterns, polk dots etc. They're so fun to play around with and there are so many places where you can find great ones! Topman is one of my favourite places to get them or Urban Outfitters. Topman also has student discounts so definitely use that if you can!American Eagle - Slim/Skinny |
Basic Black Jeans:
Black jeans are just a wardrobe must have. Jeans in general should be everyone's best friend. I think a good pair of worn in jeans fits nearly as good as sweatpants. Of course depending on your body type you wanna pick a style of jean that compliments your body, but I usually go for slim. Black jeans are really good at making you look slimmer, and work with any type of outfit you throw on. I've worn black jeans from fancier restaurants to McDonalds so they can work for most events too.

Button Up Shirt:
Button up shirts are lifesavers. You can do a basic button up or even go with a flannel. There are also so many different types that are suited for specific seasons. For example, I've got flannels that are made for the winter/fall since they're made out of thicker material, but I also have plain button up shirts that can be used for hot summer days.
Speaking of hot summer days - since the weather can become hot and humid, these are really great shirts to wear. Just roll up the sleeves! A plain button up shirt in the summer with some chino shorts, and converse can make a really great look but also keep you cooler in the heat, since the shirt won't be clinging on to you.

Baseball Cap:
This might be a biased choice, but I'm crazy obsessed with baseball caps. I think they're the most flattering type of hat, and they never go out of trend. I really love basic baseball caps the most, since they'll pretty much match anything, but if you wanna represent your favourite sports team, then you definitely wanna represent. I currently have 4 baseball style hats: a Toronto Blue Jays Hat (hometown team), an LA Dodgers Hat (I just really wanna visit LA), a plain black baseball cap, and a Budweiser cap(i just wanted a cheap hat to work out in!).Clarks:
Clark desert boots are probably one of my favourite shoes to wear all seasons. It's truly a clothing item that can be transitioned and worn all year round. There are also so many retailers that sell different variations of Clark shoes, such as H&M or American Eagle. However, my personal favourite's are the actual Clark brand. I got mine from Globo for a pretty good deal, so check them out if you have a store near you. I also like the light neutral brown, since it's versatile, and can work for every season.
Another boot you can go for that are slightly different are Blundstones. I'm not sure how well they would work in the summer, since Clarks are desert boots, but I do think the style of Blundstones are really cool.
